Green CityHub Basel

The Green CityHub in Basel enables zero-emissions delivery with electric vehicles or other delivery methods using cargo bikes.

The increasing number of parcels sent, particularly in urban areas, is doing increasing harm to the environment and the lives of city-dwellers. Relieving city centres of traffic and emissions while also managing the increasing volumes of parcels is a great challenge for logistics companies. Green CityHub Basel offers more flexible last-mile delivery and provides added value for people and the planet.

The Green CityHub in Basel is set to relieve pressure on urban areas. The focus is on delivery with electric vehicles, as well as alternative delivery methods such as cargo bikes, and serving the city of Basel’s parcel stations. A further key aspect is delivery run planning. The parcels are pre-sorted at night in the Möhlin depot and then transported directly by lorry to the Green CityHub. This means that the driver can start delivering parcels immediately the following day, without also having to sort them or drive a long way to reach the delivery area.
